Ronald Moelker - biography
Ronald Moelker (1956, Rotterdam) is a spirited recorder player based in the Netherlands. He explores the combination of historical performance practice with contemporary recorder playing as a soloist, in the Bassano Recorder Quartet, in duo’s with Niels Bijl (saxophone), Marlies van Oort (harp) and many other musicians. Besides performing existing music he creates compositions and improvisations with a meditative character.
Ronald Moelker has done numerous concert tours and CD recordings and has performed at major European Music Festivals such as the New Music ECM Festival in Heraklion and the Festivals for Early Music in Utrecht, Brugge, Skara, Basel and St. Petersburg. He received awards at The Early Music Festival in Brugge and The Van Wassenaer Competition.
